universal carbon filter..

…filter this, filter that, don’t use this, don’t use that, I wholeheartedly hope that this universe is biodegradeable! And doesn’t need to be disposed off as hazardous waste! If so, we would be in real trouble!

Remember: Nothing can be added, nothing can be taken…

yep, I really wonder these day’s, running many years ago a bio-farm myself, making sure not to produce any non-biodegradeable waste, leave wrappings and packages right there where they belonged to, if there was no other way possible, it had to be recycled in one way or the other.

But then if one follows up modern science findings, there is nothing that can be taken nor added, really, so they say, then what is the hype, what is the craze all about?

If there can nothing be taken, nothing be added, why did the buddha go on this strenuous quest of self realization, did nobody tell him or did honestly nobody know, or did nobody want to keep him from finding out himself that it was all more or less nonsense? Is this all just a giant comedy show? Much seems so nonsensical, like birth it’s the ultimate death sentence, no escape, no parole, no pardon! Then why there is still capital punishment? After all, it’s just making things easier for the perpetrator, it’s like taking a short cut, it doesn;t really seems much of a relief, but if one really thinks about all this nonesense, not much, if not all makes sense anymore!

Does it?

Ah’ it’s about balance, about equilibrium, about duality, we can’t consume crude oil, as much as we became dependend on it, as much we became frugal towards it’s use, as much as the use of these resources made humanity more mobile and represents a huge treasure chest of all sorts of chemicals, medicines, fertilizers, pestizides, fungizides and… yes, name it, also came with a very, very dark side, attached to the other side of the coin, poisoned rivers, poisoned seas, polluted cities…. shining cars, stainless steel, chrome and glass palaces, all iliuminated by the power of this sticky, stinky deadly mass, in the midst of it all we celebrate, live, dance, laugh, smile, cry, eat, breathe, think, create and destroy… after all it’s life itself and doesn’t make sense – or does it?

So, where is the filter?

Silence of the Mind

from the mat, one year and growing strong…

– Om gam, gam, gam  ganapati namo namaha –

The Universe and I are “One”
In the “now”, always.
The lived moment leaves,
The free mind is empty.
Neither past, nor future;
They cease moving arbitrarily.
The Aliveness of Life, in this moment,
Creates no reactions in me.
I see, listen, and live authentically
I become whole through love,
In this state,
The whole being is pure.

The knots of the heart are untied and all doubts are resolved'”

-Mu.Up.II.ii.8-

“One who knows Brahman becomes Brahman”
-Mu.Up.III.ii.9-

The knowledge of Brahman is not dependent on human action. On what does it depend then? It is dependent on nothing but (Brahman) Itself, it expresses itself through it self!

Self-Realization depends on the Nature of Brahman Itself in which the knots of the heart are untied. Rise of knowledge cannot be described by any means whatsoever.

There are no doubts that the very Quintessence of Universe expressing itself through the Rishis, the Seers, the Yogis, the Sadhakas and Sanyassins, them trying to save these wonderful Insights, Revelations and enlightening Illuminations in Prayers, Chants, Praises, Poems and Sutras, in uncountable Volumes like the Vedas, Upanischads, the Puranas, the Geeta and the manifold of other scriptures, literature, poetry, music and art?

If one reflects on all these wonderful, magical workings of Quantum mechanics, Astrophysics, gravity, all that what matters and doesn’t matter in life, as with matter and antimatter, the various lifeforms, animate and all inanimate, our forefathers and today’s aboriginals, pagan people, the heathen, praying to and worshiping the sun, the fire, the moon the planets, the mother, to rocks, trees, rivers, springs, to snakes, elephants, bulls, tigers, eagles, cat’s, rat’s…..

The Brahman expresses itself in the inanimate as well as in the animate plans in such amazing ways that it is simply breathtaking… breathe in breathe out… is worhshiping only one aspekt of it all, or if wise enough all in this one aspect

10 days passed, 80 more to go….

Time flies by, 10 days on the mat, the 11th will be completed this evening, getting into the mood, still adjusting to the heat. I am sweating profusely, the towel is wet after each session, wonder if this will ever stop?

Doing Vinayasa, downward Dog,little Cobra, flow, flow, flow awkward Pose (Utkatasana) into Tadasana, the Treepose ah’ well you know.. the whole nine yards of Ashtanga Poses.. Mon, the current teacher is doing a pretty good job leading the flock through the Poses..riding the bike back home is an experience by itself, as the studio is a bit “out in the bush”, lots of trees and greenery, give a very pleasant smell into the evening air, flowers, earth, this typical tropical scent of rich warm and moist air, above the stars, Venus very bright hanging above the Mountain, a moonless night.. I feel wonderful, enriched by all these pleasurable impressions, the smell, the warm air, gliding home, with big bright smile on my face…

…back on the mat..

Challenging, at  37 C and humidity at 88%, but still, after the 90 minutes have passed and one finds him/herself relaxing in Savansana, sinking into the floor like molten wax, flowing in and out with the breath, is extraordinarily rewarding, some 15 or 20 Minutes later under the shower… and it’s bliss!

Following some extracts from a book by Swami Rama i found very inspiring:

“will happen to us after death? Who experiences hell and heaven? It is that unique experience called the individual soul, the unconscious mind, that experiences them. The soul is pure; it is our essential nature; it is pure atman. You are inside a vehicle, the jiva that experiences pain and pleasure. The jiva is the union of atman and the unconscious mind. The jiva is a vehicle full of memories, desires, and wishes. Atman, when linked to the unconscious mind, is called the jiva. Without the unconscious mind, you are
pure atman. That is called moksha, or liberation. The moment you realize that this is your essential nature, that you are pure atman, you are free. When this occurs you have not lost your identity; you still have your individual identity. You are a nucleus and this universe is your expansion. You are not merely a part of the universe. Atman is not a mere part of Brahman. It is not just a small spark. Atman cannot be
diminished. You are essentially atman, but you need expansion into para-atman. You need to realize this, and not merely through mental analysis. To realize this you have to practice, and to practice you have to understand what creates problems for you and what becomes obstacles in your life. Suffering is a result of ignorance. To know your final goal is to finally leave behind the world of suffering.”

back onto the mat…

…since Sunday I am back into the Absolute Yoga Studio, yesterday first “hot” class since 5 month’s  time, since I am sweating very easily and a lot too, it turned out to be quiet an effort, after 60 Minutes or so…to go  on, even there were a lot of rather simple stretching, Pilate style, practices, but phew…. almost blew my mind, at least it gnarled away bit by bit of my stamina and with it strength.

However I do have the impression that here in the tropics, the actually “felt temperature” and the very high humidity, adding the perspiration, generated body heat of the other participants in the studio,  should be taken under careful consideration by the organizers, specially by the teachers present, at times I simply had the feeling to breathe steam instead of air… sure everyone has a different level when exhaustion set’s in, but besides “losing weight” what is this supposed to be – Yoga?

I start to have doubts, about the health benefits of Yoga-Style Aerobics in Sauna conditions, and getting really curious about proper monitoring of the climatic conditions in the premises… as I am aware that in places with opposite, dry dessert style  conditions, there are humidifiers in use!

Is anyone aware about the climatic values/rules, are there any set conditions for the training facility, or does this all happen by rule of thumb”?

Namastasje!

Helping hands are worth more than praying hands. We can help the world peace by limiting our needs in asking ourselves: “how much is enough?”
